Portsmouth Scouts Adventurous Activities
City of Portsmouth Scouts has dedicated and enthusiastic teams that run, advise or support many adventurous activities for Scout Groups in the city.
"Adventurous" Activities?
Adventurous activities are an essential, fun, and inspiring part of Scouting. From a young person getting their first experience of being afloat in a canoe to a trekking expedition through the peaks of Nepal, they provide valuable experiences, lessons, and memories for all involved. Our role is to ensure that young people get opportunities for these positive experiences in a safe and fun environment.
Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races, and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure in Portsmouth waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.
Here in Portsmouth, we can offer young people many different adventurous activities ranging from Climbing to Canoeing. You can view all the activities we are offering by going here.

Scouting for those with additional needs
Portsmouth Scouts is about actively involving everyone and we will make reasonable adjustments to make that possible. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and do our best to ensure all our members can take part. There’s a lot of flexibility within the Scouts programme to meet individual needs, whether that be a disability, neurodiversity, or an educational, mental health or medical need.
What do I need to do? Contact us as soon as possible. An activity leader will arrange a chat with you to find out more about your group and make sure we understand your group's needs and how we can work with you to implement adjustments to make sure your group will get the most out of Adventurous Activities.
Doing things safely is fundamental to everything we do in Scouting. All our activities are operated in line with Staying safe and safeguarding guidance on activity safety, risk management, incident handling and safeguarding. Find out more here.
