Tomahawk Throwing Adventures
A tomahawk is a type of single-handed axe – you’ll use a specially-designed throwing tomahawk or small hawk for this adventure. They’re made for throwing, so they’re different from conventional axes and felling axes (you mustn’t use these for throwing activities).
You’ll throw the tomahawk at a target from a distance, trying to get it to hit the target and stick into the wood. People of any age can get stuck in, as long as they can safely lift and throw the tomahawk or small hawk.
Tomahawk throwing is for Cub age and upwards, but we do have a variation that we can run for both Squirrels and Beavers.
In Portsmouth, we have over 10 leaders who are able to run Tomahawk sessions for young people. If you would like to book a session for your group then please book below.
Group bookings
Group bookings are accepted, up to a maximum of 10 young people per session, per instructor. This will give each young person the chance to have a good throw.
Camp or Meeting visits
We can attend your camp or weekly meeting if the venue is large enough for us to safely set up a range. Get in touch to discuss options.
